In Memory of Mick Power

This memorial was created in honor of Michael "Mick" Power.

Mick joined the Department in August 2015, and served as our Director of Clinical Psychology Programs. He passed away on the morning of 10 October 2017 at the age of 63 from multiple myeloma, which he had been fighting for over a year.

In the time he was with us, Mick stood out as a generous colleague, a dedicated teacher, and a ground-breaking researcher. He will be dearly missed.

There is always going to be one person I will remember forever and will be grateful to. Your name always comes back when I visit the places you took me to. Whatever I own now is thanks to you. You kept us together so strong. You kept us whole. You’ll stay forever in my memory as one of the kindest men on this earth. I am so sorry you left this place too early. There is so much I’d love to share with you…. Rest in peace. You are remembered by many…

To laugh often and much; To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; To earn the approbation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; To appreciate beauty; To find the best in others; To give of one's self; To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; To have played and laughed with enthusiasm and sung with exultation; To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived - This is to have succeeded. --- by Ralph Waldo Emerson With deepest gratitude, Augustina
