In Memory of Mick Power
This memorial was created in honor of Michael "Mick" Power.
Mick joined the Department in August 2015, and served as our Director of Clinical Psychology Programs. He passed away on the morning of 10 October 2017 at the age of 63 from multiple myeloma, which he had been fighting for over a year.
In the time he was with us, Mick stood out as a generous colleague, a dedicated teacher, and a ground-breaking researcher. He will be dearly missed.

Thoughts
Mick was the external examiner for my doctoral viva in 2013 in Manchester. I will never forget how kind he was, and how he managed to help me feel at ease on a very daunting occasion. RIP

Candles
I was recently archiving pictures and came upon Mick's photograph. I did a bit of research and found this website. Seeing so many people leave such sweet messages really bought a tear to my eye. Although I never got to know him, I felt the warmth and support he gave to everyone in his life. I bet he was a lovely person to be around with and the work he has done for the department of psychology is truly astonishing. Thank you for all your hard work and support Mick. Rest in peace, truly.

Mick is still very greatly missed. He made such a big difference to so many people by his generosity, good humour and is incredible intellect. Having been his student and then colleague for many years I still very much cannot believe Mick is now longer with us. Much loved and much missed.
